    • HDD Issue GPU is detected as Unknown PH315 -53

    in Predator Laptops
    My Device is PH315-53 rtx 2060 version I had a bad HDD issue i was facing no sound from speakers, rtx 2060 was disabled and in BIOS GPU is Unknown i got replaced my HDD under Warranty everything was good exactly after 11months i got the same issue i removed my HDD but now i have no sound , rtx is disabled as before and keyboard lights are not working does anyone has idea on this ??

      OK! Go to the main tab again and press ctrl+s. Check if a function called vmd controller appears. Now the hard drive is not showing up here:

      I would try to disconnect the lition battery and reconnect the hard drive:

      If possible, please post a phone photo of your BIOS Information tab by tapping F2 key immediately after startup.

      What version of the PH315-53 do you have e.g. i5 or i7 and what OS are you running, is it Win-10 or 11? The 2.5" SATA plug/cable design that Acer uses is a very bad design and its very problematic like its with my new Nitro 5 AN515-56 (that has the same plug/cable design) as the SATA plug at the motherboard does not connect properly and if I connect this SATA drive then the laptop does not boot.

      My suggestion to you is to take the SATA 2.5" drive out and use it as an external drive only as the Acer design is a very bad and inefficient design and could be contributing to allot of your problems as some of the sound drivers could be related to this secondary drive. Backup your valuable data and do a "Clean Install" of your OS and then install latest Intel drivers, Nvidia graphics drivers, Predator Sense as that will bring all the keyboard light features back, as you should not have to disable the RTX-2060 and the sound and keyboard lights should work. If it doesn't then you must have a bad motherboard fault that Acer should have fixed or replaced when you first sent your PH515-53 to them under warranty.

      Hold on!!! Please shut machine off. Then turn it back on and immediately start tapping F2 key to enter BIOS Menu. Please also post a phone photo of the BIOS Main tab if possible. Press Ctrl+S to reveal any hidden options like VMD.

      @egydiocoelho  I wantedly disconnected the HDD because I got corrupted i am adding a NVME M.2 but RTX2060 and the Sound doesn't come

      As mentioned earlier, you must reconnect the HDD as it seems to be part of an optane RAID hardware acceleration setup. Don't worry about it being corrupted right now. Do as @egydiocoelho says. Disconnect the battery and reconnect the HDD.

      @JackE and @egydiocoelho I did reconnected the Hard drive and RTX 2060 appeared and Hard drive also connected to the Motherboard thank you both for the help you guys are the Heroes I hope my HDD doesn't give me shock again and to remove RAID Hardware i just need to select Not Optane is that right?

      Don't change anything right now if it's working because there also is risk involved in trying switch to AHCI mode. Press WIN+R. Enter 'diskmgmt.msc'. Please post screenshot of result.

      The 1tb hard drive and 256gb ssd are now recognized by windows disk management.
