Greetings,

does the Acer Aspire A517-52G (NX.A5GEV.004) have 2 cooling fans? If so, one of them seems to be broken, but never worked as it should. Will elaborate later, if I'm not wrong about the 2 fans.

It should have only one fan part no. 23.A5GN2.001 that services both the integrated CPU/GPU and the discrete GPU thru a single thermal module duct. part no. 24.A5FN2.001. The duct may be liquid filled. if it is leaking, you may get overheating.

Is there a way to manually control the fan aside from using Quick Access? To get the most out of games. The cpu/gpu unit is getting very hot while the fan is definetely not at 100%.

When doing a BIOS update the fan usually runs at maximum speed, which is much more than it does when playing games. CPU/GPU are never overheating, but there should be a little perfomance boost when the fan runs at higher speeds, right?

Sorry no. It only depends on temperature, not fan speed. There should be no performance lost unless temperatures consistently exceed ~85*C.
