Hi!
I have an Acer Aspire A515-44G laptop. It works flawlessly, however I've noticed a strange phenomenon. Whenever I enter to the UEFI Setup the fans start spinning extremely fast (and they are very loud too). It is like the computer is suddenly overheating, but the temperatures are completely normal. When I quit from the UEFI the fans return to normal. Have someone experienced this before? Should I worry about this? As far as I can tell, the UEFI on my computer is the latest version. I'm running Windows 10.
Thank you for considering my question.

    Hi flandriai,

    # Power drain,

    1.Unplug the AC power adapter.
    2. Shutdown the unit.
    3. Search for a pinhole on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and try to turn on the unit and check.
Check this T/S and post the result.

This is normal when the BIOS is either accessed or when the laptop is first turned on or restarted. It's to prevent the fan from stalling from stiction inertia by applying full power to overcome this, then slows down by applying less power. Jack E/NJ

Thank you for the suggestion, I tried it, but unfortunately it did not solve the problem.

Thank you for this information JackE, but in my case the fans keep running on full speed as long as I am in the BIOS. When I quit and login to Windows the machine becomes completely still. Is that normal too?  I've never experienced something like this before with any laptop.

Try to return it to the seller as defective for a refund.
