Hello

I have a Nitro NS-100 Desk top - with AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor               3.40 GHz - 8gb ram - using Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 - 19.51.40.1 - I also have a Samsung laptop onm at the same time that never drops out - neither does my phone or google hub and doorbell.

Why would the desktop keep dropping out all the time??  It gets infuriating as says "no internet" when there is., loads of internet errors like "dns probe no internet"

Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Hi @ virtualalan

If you're too far from your router, your internet may cut in and out as Wi-Fi signals struggle to reach your device. Obstructions between your device and your router may also cause intermittent disconnections. Pay attention to your device's Wi-Fi signal meter to see where your Wi-Fi signal gets weak and disconnects

Have a look at the arial wires and/or condition of them and if its making full contact with your Wireless-AC 3168 card? As this Wi-Fi-2.4/5G band and its BT version 4.2 card is a good card and should work 100% at a reasonable distances from your router (my router is in a closet and separated by brick wall 30' from the laptop) and it works 100%) so and unless you have thick walls and you are around corners to where the router is, it could be a problem. Also make sure that you have also installed the last Intel drivers for this card. Also take the card out and clean its pins and mobo plug for any residue, corrosion etc so that the card makes 100% contact. Otherwise its the actual card so change that to a new one, which is unusual a these cards don't go wrong very often .

But why does my lap top and phone and google products all work OK and are equal distances away and through walls etc
  • Try updating the drivers here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html

Check your antivirus firewall and disable it. If the problem continues, check the network card's main and aux cables as mentioned by stevengen.
