Brand new Spin CP513-1H-S511 Shows 93 % battery health

So I bought a brand new acer spin cp513-1h-s511 and noticed that after 8 cycles my battery health is 93%  I run the latest stable chromeos. Is this normal? i have looked an searched but can’t find a way to recalibrate this setting. I powerwashed the  device multiple times but this did not help. I ran it down to 0% and charged for over 8 hours but that did not help either.

I’m content with how the device works and its performance, but 7% battery loss on a brand new device doesn’t sit well with me. Should I return it or is his a fluke in te chromeos??

    Hi @Risi,

    Check for updates yourself

    1. Turn on your Chromebook.
    2. Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
    3. At the bottom right, select the time.
    4. Select Settings .
    5. At the bottom of the left panel, select About Chrome OS.
    6. Under "Google Chrome OS," you'll find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.
    7. Select Check for updates.
    8. If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.

Yeah, battery health number are often off by a fair amount. They don't take into account your actual usage very well and tend to get skewed. Windows is just7 as bad, but there it's easier to get it recalibrated.

Lithium ion batteries lose a small amount of capacity and charge cycles every time you completely charge or discharge them. Cars that use those batteries are set to only run the batteries between 20 and 80% charge most of the time.

sorry for the late response. We are a few months and about 40 cycles down the road. Pecentage fluctuates between 92% and 95%. Runtime is great, so I was worrying for nothing. So far I have a great experience with the device!
