Hi. I bought an 8gb HyperX ram (2400MHz) so that I could add it on my 4gb stock ram (same speed). I checked my pc properties and it shows 3.95 GB useable. I also checked the BIOS and the installed RAM is 12GB. Please help.

@towshii try to remove the 4GB to see if the 8GB stick does work or not

@towshii I'm afraid that your HyperX RAM has XMP enabled which is not compatible with your model. If possible, return that stick and just get a normal non-XMP RAM stick.

@AnhEZ28 when i combine this hyperx to my stock 4gb my laptop runs tho. and when I checked cpu z it shows JEDEC on both sticks and now runs at dual channel. Can this be used or is there any way to disable XMP?

I suggest that you do the Crucial System Scan as that will give you the best and 100% compatibility of all the RAM specs that will work with your AN515-43 as Crucial even suggests the ultimate maximum capacities that your laptop will work with. Below is the Acer OEM spec for this laptop:

@towshii no, XMP is integrated into the RAM and cannot change it. You will have to exchange to another stick.

@AnhEZ28 sir, this HyperX RAM is not XMP enabled as I checked in CPU-Z . Is there any way to use this fully?

I wanna know if this RAM that I got is compatible, i think it is because it is showing that I have 12gb installed ram, unfortunately I can only use 3.44 of it from the other stick (4gb).
