ACER Swift 3 Ryzen 5 - SF314-43 - stopped connecting to Wifi

Hi

We have had an ACER Swift 3 Ryzen 5 that has been connected to both our home and office wifi networks. It has been working fine for the past few weeks and was connected to the internet today at the office. On getting home, the laptop no longer connects to the internet and when we troubleshoot we get the message 'Windows could not find a driver for your network adapter'.

There is no wifi option in Network & internet and when I go to the 'Change adaptor settings' in Network connections folder this is empty.

Nothing has changed from earlier on when the laptop was at the office and there are no updates that have been performed today or that are needed.

My knowledge is basic at best and I'm struggling to understand what may have happened

Thanks for any assistance in this

Bring up Device Manager and look for any devices with errors or warnings. Get a screen shot showing the ones with issues and the contents of the Network Adapters folder. With anything that does show an issue, bring up it's properties and let us see what is displayed in the Properties; Details; Hardware IDs section of the pull down menu.

Thank you billsey for your response. After I opened the laptop this morning everything is now fine with the wifi option now appearing in the Network and Internet.

Not sure how that happened but seems its now fixed

Heheh, the only thing worse that opening it up and having it fix itself without actually doing anything is when it fixes itself while you are on the phone with a tech, and again before you do anything. :)
