My nitro 5 an 54 that I got just started doin weird stuff. It randomly started shutting off or entering sleep mode. before it goes to sleep, or just sometimes, the screen turns on and off. It all started happening about 3 weeks ago, then nothing, today again. There's something wrong, but idk where. It there a solution without having to reset the whole laptop?

Were you connected to power or on battery when this happens?
Install Acer Quick Access and disable all functions of power button and see if that helps. (Disabling all functions will still allow to turn it on, and long press to force turn off.)

The power button function disappeared, the app doesn't turn on, (same with nitro sense but I reinstalled it and it's ok)

It happens when I'm connected and when I'm bot6
  • Have you already checked these options?

Do you usually leave a device close to the laptop's hall sensor?

The missing or outdated device drivers (such as your motherboard driver) can cause your laptop randomly turning off itself. So you should make sure that your device drivers are up to date. There are two ways to update drivers: manually and automatically.

i had a problem with randomly falling asleep Nitro AN517-41, and it seems I found a reason for that (hope Acer egnineers will take a look on that): I have an Apple Watch with the magnetic lock on the band. When I move my hand next to left-bottom part of the trackpad, the notebook either switches screen off, or goes asleep!
