...i have managed to turn the laptop back on by doing a hard reset, but my main WORRY, is why would this happen in the first place?

- is it a sign of a bigger problem, why would the laptop turn off randomly then not turn back on unless there is a bigger issue at play?.......ive managed to turn it back on, but it worries me because the laptop is less than 6 months old.

Do laptops just randomly turn off then not turn back unless you do a battery reset?

ive spend alot of money on this laptop (based on my income) and is raises alarm bells!!...should i worry?

is there anything i can do eg system check, battery check?

Agree with @egydiocoelho . It can be due to just about anything that interrupts loading files properly from boot drive to RAM. That's why the battery disconnect is there and works to drain any residual charges on the mainboard that may be causing the problem. I wouldn't fret over it too much. It happens occasionally to my machines. Unplug the charger, disconnect or remove the battery pack, the problem solved. :)

Seems like two contradictory statements. Which is it?

Do you mean that it goes into  'suspend' or 'sleep' mode?

    Hi.

the laptop is working now after i had to do a battery reset but i was just wondering why would that happen in the first place. It was working fine, no issues, battery at 85%, then soon as i opened the laptop screen it came on then just turned off and wouldnt come back on.

i was wondering why would this happen?
  • Maybe it's a buildup of static energy. This can happen and interfere with computer startup.
