I have bought the acer nitro 5 (AN515-42-R6P2) in 2018.
now i have already try to connect second portable monitor over USB-C. Not the HP or Dell monitor can connect and work as second monitor because of the acer USB-C (seems that can only charge over usb-c. Will you release some update drivers or do anything about that?

@Capricorn76 this model doesn't support display output for the Type-C port. This function is not available until the recent model that has Intel CPU and the ThunderBolt 4 port.

The USB port doesnt support video out im afraid, no driver update would help :( , if you want to use it for a monitor it has to be a display link style which uses any usb data connection to get video data

    Thanks for the answer.
I have tested the monitor in the shop on hp, acer, dell, asus laptops and on my samsung mobile phone. Except for the acer, all the others recognized the second screen immediately. Why only acer doesn't support video output.
I haven't tried the FN/f5 keyboard shortcut, would that work?  Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to try it anymore. Can someone from acer who knows the answer 100 percent answer. Thanks in advance

@Capricorn76 Nitro is a cheap gaming series so you will have to exchange a good gaming performance but cut down some functionality. Also, some ports will connect to the iGPU instead of the dGPU so it is meaningless for the gaming monitor.

today i tried 4 asus, 5 hp, 2 dell and 4 acer laptop in the store. All laptops regardless of price range worked well with the portable monitor but the acers. Not only mine acer 2018, but all i tried in the shop! All competition worked.

@Capricorn76 are they ultrabooks, workstations, or just a normal model?

@AnhEZ28Mostly standard laptops. The point is that acer doesn't even provide information about the USB-C (what it  can / can't do) to the dealer and he can't  pass the  information to the end customer. Only one acer had a specification that the USB-C doesn't support power delivery. I don't think it would be difficult to include the info in the specification, but it wouldn't be good for business.

@Capricorn76 that detailed information about the ports is in the user manual on the support page. Here is the reference. They don't really tell what it can't do because this will create a negative impression. If any functions are not listed, I might assume that they are not available.

@AnhEZ28 Ok. So if you want to buy anything from acer, first read manual. How many people read manual before they actually buy something? I talk to shop assistants and sometimes change my mind, so even if would read the manual,  than changed my mind and than I would have to  read another manual before buying the another stuff. For me it's easier to ask the shop assistant and they should be able to answer the question without reading manuals of all goods the are selling.

@Capricorn76 not all shop assistants are able to provide some further detail like how much fps in a particular game can that laptop get or does this laptop can get critical temperature while gaming.
You can also search the specs of a particular model like this website here: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/NH.QAMEK.005
If some people want to buy a laptop that can they want to use for a long time, they have to have to go deeper and read its functionality, pros, and cons on some review websites. They could spend more than 15 mins to check if there is any future flaw that can happen to them.

@AnhEZ28 First of all, thank you for all your comments. I don't agree that usb-c specification is on the same "deep" level with "how much fps in a particular game can that laptop get or does this laptop can get critical temperature while gaming."Providing with quality information should be a policy of every good company. It doesn't feel like lying here, but deliberately avoiding to provide some (negative) information. I don't like that, that's it. Bye  and have a nice live.
