Hi. Would you please clarify Nitro 5 AN515-42 technical specs regarding video output through USB type-C? I did not find this information in any official documentation and internets.
Does Nitro 5 AN515-42 supports alternate mode video output (any type DP, HDMI, etc) on USB Type-C?
I mean is it possible to get Nitro 5 AN515-42 working with 2 external monitors with native performance (for eg without penalty such DisplayLink gives).

    Good Morning EugeneShutov !

What EXACT model of your laptop?
    Example: AN515-42-R5GT

    This series uses a Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 connection.

Only USB-Type C 3.1 Gen2 connections with Thunderbolt technology support can send video signal.

In this case it is not possible.

    No, i don't have it.
I am just searching out a suitable laptop (handheld workstation) for software development purpose.
Nitro 5 AN515-42 is a great in all (except video output). It is cheap, has an effective cooling system that rid of CPU throttling, and built with Ryzen CPU without holes (meltdown, spectre, etc).

It is very sad, that hardware developers are forced to use legacy, proprietary and paid video port HDMI instead of Display port (build in both Ryzen GPU and Radeon 560) with MST. Just because ordinary customers don't know "Display port" name. And of course don't know their needs can be covered by 95% with video cable with DP plug on laptop side and HDMI on another side.

    Thanks for answer.

Not all models have DP connection.
This depends on the series, region and segment of the device.

I, from development experience, would opt for an Intel / Nvidia suite for compatibility over AMD / Radeon.
But it is just an opinion of know-how!

I also have a 515-42. Is posible to upgrade the type c port from gen 1 to gen 2? Are there external hardwares out there that can do this?

Hi, I have an Acer Nitro 5 Model N17CI. Are there any adapters that would allow me to connect my laptop to a portable monitor via usb c port. The Lenovo Thinkvision M14 requires USB-C connector that supports Display Port 1.2 Alt Mode and PD2.0. I did not know that my USB C was not compatible until after purchasing the Thinkvision portable monitor. Any help here would be great.

I've a nitro an 517-54 with windows 11, I've bought a usb-hdmi adapter, that works correctly with a hp pc of almost 4 years old. On the acer it seem not working with the same connection and monitor. It could be a problem of drivers / firmware or it is not supprted by mine AN517-54?

I have an acer nitro 5 AN-515-54 and I recently just bought a new monitor to use with my acer nitro laptop. I bought a USB-C to DisplayPort cable to connect the laptop to the monitor. The USB-C port is standard and does not have thunderbolt so I was wondering if it is going to be a problem to use that cable for video output from the laptop to the pc.
