What PC are you talking about? Are you sure it has 2.5Gb lan? Most come with only a 1Gb lan.

The Predator PO3-630G models have 1000Mbps Ethernet (Killer E2600/RTL8118AS), not 2500Mbps.

Yeah, I think we're likely to get the 2.5Gbps ports in the 12th generation machines, but not in the 11th without using an add in card.

What GPU? If I remember correctly, in order to remove the backplate on 3070 you have to remove the fan shroud first. Then you can access to few screws that hold the backplate in place.

There is no place to apply thermal paste on the backplate. Attaching few thermal pads (can't remember how thick) might help to conduct heat from the GPU PCB to the backplate. Expect only few degrees lower temp, if you do this.

The GPU core and memory chips are all on the other side of the card, so you need to remove the heatsink if you want to repaste.

This is a reference to what the backplate looks like

Sorry, but I have never even seen 1660 in the flesh, so I can't help you there.

When you have the paste, unplug the power cable(s) and don't forget to open that plastic lever at the end of the PCIE slot. You can see it on the pic a bit left from the RAM modules. (Installing the card: when you press the card in place the level will lock the card in place automatically.)

When you have the card in your hand, the way to remove the backplate should be easy to spot. But like I said, you may have to remove the fan shroud first. The GPU core is under the heatsink, so you need to remove the heatsink if you want to reapply paste. I think that backplate is purely for looks, but it can also protects some of components. I don't believe it helps with the temps and may even be made of plastic or some composite material. I'd be surprised if it was made of aluminum.

Small Phillips screwdriver is most likely all you need.
