Predator XB271HU mid-game black screen

Long time Predator XB271HU user, my monitor is probably 4 years old now, and in pretty regular use. Mid-game (War Thunder for anyone wondering) my monitor went black, and has refused to display anything.

I am currently using a dual monitor set-up, but the second screen is an old crappy monitor from my old computer.

The Predator XB271HU is powered on (blue light) and the computer recognizes it (as my primary monitor), I can move my mouse over to the Predator XB271HU side of setup and move things around, I just can't see anything (display appears to not be getting power, even though the blue light suggests it should be powered).

Naturally I've tried swapping all the cables (power and HDMI). Power cycling the monitor and my computer has no effect. My second old monitor is working fine and is not having display issues at all. Windows Display settings recognizes both monitors and from what I can tell, it shows no problems in the settings (not that I've changed them recently).

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks for the reply egydiocoelho, but this isn't the issue I'm having.

So after running through various tests, I have confirmed that the backlight has, well, "died". If I hold a torch up to the screen, I can very, VERY, faintly see some of the lighter parts on my screen.

My monitor is obviously outside the warranty period, is there much I can do?

The backlight is integrated into the display panel, and the Acer part number for the display is: KL.27005.026. A good technician who is well versed in monitor repair might be able to do something to repair the existing display, depending on where the failure actually is...

    Hi @Zyphire,

What is the refresh rate of your screen ?

Thanks to those that've pitched in to help. If the part billsey has quoted is correct, then price of repair isn't probably going to be worth it to repair a 6 year old monitor thats at risk of other failures. It's a pity lose such a good monitor a lot earlier than I'd hoped, but I fear I'd just be throwing good money after bad going the repair route.

    Thanks once again to everyone.
