Acer Care Centre Installation - Windows 10 S-MODE - Acer Aspire ES11

Hello Everyone,
I have a query about installing Acer Care Centre - Windows 10 S-MODE - I have the Acer Aspire ES11 which required an updated version of Windows 10 to be installed and because of the shortage of memory (didn't realise when I bought it) it required everything stripping out so as to be able to install the newer version of windows from a USB stick and because everything had to be stripped to create enough memory I had to uninstall Acer Care Centre.

I have been unable to re-install Acer Care Centre because Acer website says it cannot be installed when the laptop is in S-Mode which is an automatic setting in Windows 10 Home - I am confused because Acer Care Centre came pre-installed on the ES11 Microsoft website suggests the only method to turn off S-Mode is to upgrade to Windows 10 Professional? I have been trying to find the Windows Licence/Product Key but it is not on the ES11 nor is it in the box in which it came new to verify what was originally installed - Home/Professional?

I am confused/puzzled because my thinking is if it was originally installed I thought I should be able to re-install Acer Care Centre? but I am now stuck between Acer and Microsoft! If anyone has encountered this issue and knows of a fix I would be grateful if they would let me know - thanks.

If it came pre-installed, you can probably reset the machine to a factory fresh state using the ALT+F10 cold boot method. However, tap F2 on startup and check that the D2D option is enabled in the BIOS Main tab. Then shut the machine off. Then turn it back on and immediatley press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. A menu should appear to allow you to reset the machine to a factory fresh state including the ACER apps that came pre-installed.

I understand what you are saying about rebooting back to the Factory Original Settings - but and please correct me if I getting things wrong - That would take me back to the point where I need to update the installed operating system Windows 10 and I run into the problem of insufficient memory and I have to strip everything out and do the external install of Windows from a Memory Stick because the memory issue doesn't allow for a Download/Install.

If you only have the 32GB emmc boot drive, you usually can use a 16GB or 32GB NTFS formatted SD Card that Windows update can use for the extra space needed to store temporary files to complete the update.

I understand what you are saying about the additional space needed to store the temporary files required to upgrade/update Windows.

Query; is there any difference between using a SD card or memory stick? I used a memory stick, but still had to strip everything out of the C-drive so the new files could be installed to replace the existing version of Windows. Which is how I got to the present issue.

Sorry. You must use an NTFS formatted SD card. Users have reported that an NTFS-formatted USB stick won't work to store temporary files needed to complete the update.

Question; If I were to use an SD card as opposed to the Memory Stick to install the temporary files - Do I Still have to strip everything out of the laptop OR does it work the same as installing upgrades on a machine with sufficient memory - in that it's just install without deleting/stripping the machine to create sufficient space to allow the upgrade.

That's the main purpose of the sd card. With it installed, you should not have to make room for temporary files on the emmc chip that's needed to complete the upgrade process. The keyword is 'should'. I cannot guarantee with 100% certainty that it will work on your system. SD cards are super cheap nowadays. 32GB cards less than $10 at WalMart. You'll just have to take a chance and see if it works.
