Hi,

Recently, I hopped on to my laptop and noticed the wifi was off. Not only that but the wifi couldn't detect any networks either. I looked over at Device Manager and found a couple things:
  1. Firmware was giving an error code 10 with a message saying it was a bad image. This was resolved by uninstalling and installing the BIOS drivers from the manufacturer's website.
  2. Under network adapters, Intel Wifi 6 AX201 was giving an error code of 10/43.
  3. Under USB controllers, there was Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed). This was also giving an error code of 10/43.
I tried quite literally everything I could find on the internet and forums. This included disabling/enabling drivers, uninstalling/reinstalling drivers from corresponding manufacturers, draining battery, etc.

What worked at last was resetting the battery through the pinhole at the back of my laptop and resetting my network settings through Windows troubleshooter. But even then, I have to keep my Bluetooth turned off. As a result, I cannot connect any devices via Bluetooth. I have tried using only 5GHz wifi on my laptop, but that hasn't worked either.

What would be the source of my issue? How can I go about resolving this? I feel like this is a hardware issue.

What is your laptops model number? As you have done all that a consumer can do to reinstate the WiFi/BT card, also and allot of drivers especially with the new laptops and with Intel WiFi/BT cards do not work with either BT or WiFi. Use an older driver and try that to see if it works? If not then there is something wrong with your WiFi/BT card and you will need to replace it. As that happened to me with a brand new Nitro 5 AN515-56 and its Intel WiFi/BT card driver and I could NOT get the BT to work with Intel's latest driver for my Intel AX1650i WiFi/BT card and I had to use the next last driver and then it worked perfectly.

The model that I have is Acer Swift SF314-57. I will try installing older drivers to see if that works

The issue is likely related to the USB device failure, if that is garbling the data then the device that's actually connected to the port (Bluetooth in your case) is going to have the same type of failure, or perhaps not be recognized as connected at all. Sometimes a reinstall of the chipset or serial IO drives will clear that up, sometimes a windows update helps.
