2020 Predator Triton 300 (PT315-52) having GPU fan noise issues

About a week ago after gaming for an hour and a half I noticed that one of my fans was making a weird noise while doing some web browsing, I spun up both fans using Predator Sense and deduced that it was my GPU fan making that weird noise. I stopped using it as much as I could for fear that I could end up damaging the fan. I opened up my laptop to clean the fans, which were decently dusty. However, I also ended up finding a hair underneath the fan blades and gently pulled it out with a toothpick. I tried to search for teardown guides and videos but they never disassemble it completely, I wanted to try and fix it myself since the 1 year warranty ended 3 months ago (November 2020) and I really need my laptop for school.

If anyone knows what is the problem or have a guide to how to completely disassemble the laptop so I could get under the fans and see what is the issue I would gladly appreciate it.

Bump, if anyone knows where I could buy an OEM GPU fan for an Acer Predator Triton 300 PT315-52 (RTX 2070 Max-Q model) I would gladly appreciate it.

These are the OEM fans and Acer part numbers on the right for your PT315-52 and in your case it would be the VGA Fan part number 23.Q7CN2.001, best is to contact Acer in your area and ask them for the specific fan and give them the part number and get their advice if not these fans are available on Amazon and eBay also. The removal is easy as you just need to unscrew 2 screws for either fans and replace them. Its also best to remove the Thermal Module and repaste both CPU and GPU with a high end paste like the "Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme" paste and use the "Pea Dot" method to apply the paste, don't use too much. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Thank you so much, do you know where I could buy one atm? I found a website that sells them but they say they're out of stock :( Also, would you happen to know where I could find a FULL teardown guide? I eventually do plan on repasting the CPU and GPU but I can't find a guide on how to fully disassemble the laptop so I have no idea how to get there or what parts I need to remove or how to do so, it would be gladly appreciated.

I have the same problem with the GPU fan assembly on a Triton 500. Any ideas where I could get a replacement?

I eventually managed to fix the issue myself.

I managed to get a replacement fan from Ali Express: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004073349220.html

And managed to find Youtube video instructions on disassembly here (also useful for upgrading RAM): 🛠️Acer Predator Triton 500 (PT515-52) - disassembly and upgrade options - YouTube

Detaching and re-attaching the fan to heat-sink assembly is a bit fiddley but doable.

Also note that the first boot after re-assembly takes several minutes (it looks like it isn't working, but give it time).

    Hopefully someone finds this useful.
