M.2 nvme upgrade

I have an acer laptop that have right now 1 tb hard drive i wanna put in an m.2 nvme ssd the question is my hard have a cracked window 10 version on it i bough a legit one so im not gonna use acer care center to create recovery file im just gonna download the legit window on my m.2 nvme ssd(after removing the hard disk) after window installation im gonna put my hard drive back so the question is do i lose any data of my hard drive if i didn't use acer care center to create recovery file??

    If you install and boot into Windows OK on the m.2 without the HDD connected, the HDD should show up as the D : \  or E : \ drive when you re-connect it. You should be able to access all the files that were originally on the HDD.

    Yea im gonna remove the hdd install the new windows 10 on my new ssd then plug the hdd back on and i should lose data

  • After connecting the hard disk again, check if the disk appears in disk management.

    Yea it could be unallocated ill just create a new volume for it after i reconnect it there is no data loss right? Im new to this stuff that's why im asking such questions i don't want to lose data

    I'm not sure what you're preparing? You won't lose anything on the HDD if you first remove it or disconnect it from the mainboard. You can't do anything more until you at least buy an NVME card and install Windows on it. Only then can you re-connect the HDD and see all your personal files are still there, none will be lost unless you physically damage or drop the HDD on the floor.

    The idea is i live in lebanon we have economy crisis right the nvme ssd cost around 700 dolar right so im waiting till the end of the month to buy it 🤦🏻‍♂️that's what i mean by preparing thanks for the clear info about the data im now sure that i won't lose anything

    Onr dolar used to cost you 1500L.L now it cost 20700L.L in lebanese pound the GIGABYTE M.2 nvme ssd that i wanna buy cost 574500L.L divide this by 1500 it will be 700 dolar the reason im dividing by 1500 not by 20700 because we still getting paid in our jobs based on 1500 🤦🏻‍♂️
