Swift SF315-52 suddenly won't charge

I saw the yellow caution light at 10% and plugged it in. It briefly showed charging and stopped. The battery HAS been calibrated previously. the acer 'care center' shows its health as GOOD. I routinely unplug it EVERY time it reaches full charge then run it down before recharging.

Coincidentally this happened after installing windows update 2022-01 cumulative update preview for windows 10 version 21h2 (KB5009596)

Since I see no way to edit my post, I'll add this update: I UNINSTALLED windows update 2022-01 cumulative update preview for windows 10 version 21h2 (KB5009596), restarted and briefly saw the animation of the battery charging but still just says 10% available (plugged in)

    Hi @Spillboy,

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option battery.
    4. Under the title battery.
Update Battery Drivers in Windows EASILY - Driver Easy
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.

Thanks, but no updated drivers found. I've updated the useless 'care center, but there is nothing in there. Where do I go to find drivers, BIOS updates for my

    Swift SF315-52?

Do you have devices listed under Batteries in Device Manager? If so, uninstall each one, then reboot the system to see if the automatic reinstall will fix any corruption. If that makes no difference, do the uninstall again, but this time check the box that removes the files. The automatic reinstall will pull the drivers off the net during the next reboot. If there is a driver issue those two steps should fix it.
