Touch Screen Stopped Working Spin SP314-51

Hi,

I have an Acer Spin 3, or more specifically Spin SP314-51. I was using it one day for homework, and I noticed that my touch screen had randomly stopped working.

I have restarted the device several times, and nothing has changed or come of it. In my settings, the touch screen is still enabled, and I went to my Device Manager to see if something was wrong there, but there wasn't anything wrong that I could see.

I was wondering what else I could do, or if someone else has experienced this and was able to fix it?

Thanks :)

Is there a chance you have bumped the F7 or Fn-F7 that toggles the touchpad on and off? It shouldn't affect the touch screen, but who knows... :) There are touch screen testers online that might point to something not working right.

I have also checked the F7 and Fn-F7 and nothing changed too. I'll have to try and see if any touch screen testers online to try and see if that helps at all.

    Thanks :)

I have tried a few testers and it still is not showing me what the issue is. I don't know what to do anymore.

Does the touch screen work in the BIOS? Does it work with Windows in safe mode?

It doesn't work in safe mode. I saw somewhere if you uninstall the screen touch driver and restart your computer, it will install again upon the restart. However, I did this and it didn't come back. I'm thinking this might be the issue considering it didn't work in safe mode. I tried to look up ways that I could get the driver back, but I can only seem to find things with Windows 10 when I have Windows 11.

Any W10 fix should also work on W11. You might have to contact either Acer support (if in warranty still) or Windows support to see if anything has changed in W11.

I have contacted them, and they had mentioned that nothing changed within the two updates. I also tried the live chat thing, but my warranty expired and I don't want to pay $80 for something that might not even tell me how to fix it
