Chromebook CB3-431 won't turn on

I have an Acer chromebook CB3-431 which won't turn on. I tried to drain the static power, power reset, unplug the battery, test it only on the charger... did it all.
Charged the battery to full (the indicator light went from orange to blue).
Opened it up, disconnected all the connections, looked for any sign of short circuit or loose connection, reconnected it all.
Tried all the above... in vain.

The battery seems fine - as it does get charged.
The charger looks OK as it is indicated when connected to the chromebook.
But all said and done, the device won't turn on when the power button is pressed. No sign of life at all.

Would appreciate some help. Thanks!

Have you got a monitor you can plug into the HDMI port?

OK, so if it's not putting any signal out on the HDMI port and also not putting anything out to the builtin display, then it's likely not a display issue. Since it's charging it's likely not a power issue. That leaves the keyboard and motherboard as potential culprits. There is only one cable that runs between the keyboard and motherboard, so the power key is included in that. Has there been any spills that might have shorted anything out? You could tear it down far enough to remove and replace the keyboard cable a few times to clean the contacts if there's some corrosion building up on it. Otherwise you are likely looking at a motherboard replacement. :(

Thanks a lot for that explanation. I've decided to get rid of it.
    However, a good learning experience.
    Thanks for your informed help!
