Acer recovery management uninstalled

Hey

I uninstalled the acer recovery management on my W510 when I was "cleaning" it up.

And I have understood that it is needed when I want to reset my device without having to use a DVD or USB.

My problem is that I can't find anywhere to download the Acer recovery management for w510 and windows 8, I only find erecovery for windows 7/vista.

Would appreciate some help.

All downloads available for your computer will be posted at http://www.acer.com, click on Support, then click Drivers and Manuals. If the driver or application you are looking for is not listed, then unfortunately, Acer is unable to provide it at this time.

Acer Technician  It's clear he is speaking of a full Windows 8 recovery that he deleted ( for whatever reason ). He is looking for assistance. He is not looking for drivers. You could have at the very least assissted him in a quick How -Too or at the very least given him the link  http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers if he had been speaking of drivers( which he wasn't ).

Or better yet where he is under warrenty as the W700 and W510 never hit North America until mid November you could have directed him to the http://acer.custhelp.com/app/chat/chat_launch/  so he could speak to an online Tech (someone that could guide him through any issue he may have ).  ]]

    Hi Opoptos,

Yeh only Acer can re-create this hidden recovery partition so you'd have to send the unit back if you accidently removed it.

I guess if you launch the eRecovery tool now from Windows and try to create a USB Recovery Flash Stick it will fail as it won't find the partition to make it from?

The DVDs/CDs (W510 package is two CDs and a DVD but only the SYSTEM disk is bootable).

Should be available from the acer store for about $20. If in the US  https://store.acer.com/store?Action=DisplayDataValidationServicePage&Env=BASE&Locale=en_US&SiteID=acerna I bought a set for my Aspire this way but they came with my W510 and W3 since I bought the 32 GB models.

If you have an MSDN subscription you can also download the Windows 8 ISO from there and add the ACER/Intel drivers.

I imagine the restriction from a simple download is due to licensing.

Then try with the serial number (longer) instead of the SNID.

I suggest you call Acer but thought you said you had the CDs/DVD. Only the one labeled "System Disk" is bootable.

Or you could go to the Microsoft store or Amazon and buy a Windows 8 DVD & add the downloadable Acer drivers but now are talking around U$100.

There were several threads about six months ago about how to do recovery.

Since I do not have one with the recovery partition, I cannot suggest anything else.

I've had the same problem. I used to have a partition error. Here are some things you could try

You can reinstall Windows 8 and install all of the drivers again for your PC.

The other simpler thing you could do is: to go to start, swipe to get to the charms bar, go to settings, then go to change pc settings  on the side menu find update and recovery...

I can't remember the rest because my acer aspire v5 122p pc is running windows 8.1 update 1 now.

    Hope this helps!

    I had the same problem:

No Acer recovery management software, and no recovery discs.

Called Acer, and they will send me a recovery disc in the snail mail.

(For free, but I still have the warranty).

    Ps. This was in Norway.
