I put my laptop to sleep this morning (closed the lid) and left it charged at the mains. When I got home I opened up the lid an tried pressed the power on but it wouldn't turn on? The blue light above the battery symbol is on so I know it is fully charged. The light doesn't even come off when I unplug the cord.

I've seen suggestions about resetting the battery on different posts through a small pin hole but I don't think my model comes with that feature? Its the AN51753-53r6, model no: N20C2.
Ayn suggestsions on what i could do? Ive tried holding the power button down, unplugging it....

  • Try resetting the battery: turn off the computer, unplug the power adapter, press the power button for thirty seconds and leave the computer off for half an hour.

Just as a note to you, the “Battery reset pinhole” was cancelled on AN517-53, instead you have to press the “Power button” for 9 seconds to reset the battery, see below. Also take the battery out and inspect it and see if its swollen or has any damage that you might need to replace  the battery? As taking the battery out completely does a hard reset of the BIOS so try to see if that fixes your power on issues, otherwise it could be other internal circuitries like a fuse, capacitors, mosat etc tec that need to be checked by an experienced technician that has all the diagnostic tools and ability to change these components if they are faulty.
