Hello,

I would like to upgrade my SSD, and need to know which is better way to go in terms of performance.

My system comes with a 256 SSD https://www.amazon.ca/256GB-SOLID-STATE-DRIVE-80MM/dp/B073H93XKZ  and the 2.5 inch is still empty. I upgraded the RAM from 8GB to 24GB.

I am thinking of getting a 1TB SSD 2.5 SATA and install or Buy a 1TB  M.2 2280 and clone the OEM M2 SSD and install this.

Which way is better to go in terms of optimal performance and what SSD will be best to get in this situation.

Thanks,

Use the Crucial System Scanner that will give you all the RAM  and SSD drive upgrades for your laptop and their specs. Btw, your Swift 3 - SF315-52-87R5 can cater for an M.2 PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 which Acer also includes in its FRU list for your Swift of the Intel SSD 600P 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD M.2 form factor SSDPEKKW512G7X1 Acer part number KN.5120N.002.

Thanks so much. I used the crucial scanner and I will be purchasing either the Crucial P5 plus 1tb PCle M.2 or Samsung 980series 1 tb PCle Gen 3. X4 Nvme 1.4.

I will follow up on the outcome.
