hello, i recently bought the acer gn246hl and when i use a dual link dvi cable and set the monitor to 144hz, it comes up with "incorrect cable. please use the dual link DVI cable that came with your monitor." I have bought two cables, one being a cheap one, and the other being an expensive cable. i used both and still the monitor displays this message. the monitor comes up with an image that is running at 144hz but is all pixelated and blurry.

Dual link DVI is deviously fiddley, it may be worth sending the cables back and trying others as sometimes they just plain dont work, it took me ages to get mine a work working!

I've tried at least 4 cables now, have you got any tips?

okay guys, so i found out why it wasn't working. in order to get 144hz on a dual link dvi cable, its needs to be at a transmission speed of 8.0GBPS or higher. These cables are quite pricey, mine costing around 10 UK pounds. here is a link to a cable with a transmission speed of 9.9GBPS - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005Y77DM2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
