Hi
I own an Aspire A315-42G Notebook. I don't think the cooler is working enough. I refreshed the thermal paste but it still drops the CPU and GPU speed reaching the temperature limit. Is there a way to control this with the "notebook fancontrol" app? Should I use an external vacuum cooler?
Thanks for answer :p

Usually not. What temps are you seeing? Stuttering shouldn't till temps reach about 90*C.

Maximum 75 degrees. Then the CPU frequency speeds drop. Ryzen 3700u + Radeon 540. Fan spinning slow compared to other notebooks.

Seems normal. Can't compare it to other notebooks because newer laptops have quieter fans. Benchmark CPU/GPU speeds don't mean very much. What matters is if you are seeing video stuttering indicative of throttling behavior due to overheating. 75*C is not overheating. Other than looking at benchmarks, what problems are you having with programs, games, applications and other uses that matter?

Man, the system won't let the CPU temperature go above 75 degrees. When I run the system as 8 cores, single core performance drops and fps is halved. I have to boot with 4 cores from "msconfig" setting, this offers more useful performance. I haven't seen it go above 75 degrees in the "CPU stress" tests either. And I'm getting a lower score than it should be.

You're fretting too much over a freebie benchmark app. Benchmark apps often don't reflect real world performance. You get what pay for most them. So again, I ask you what problems are you having with programs like Microsoft Office, games like GTA, applications and other practical uses? What else do you do on this laptop besides watching its CPU temperature & frequency?

In "LoL" I get 30-20 fps in team fights.

Go to the advanced settings in your power plan. Try setting maximum processor states to 90%, not 100%

Good idea, I'll try. I will share the result.
