Hi guys,
After changing my predator AIO cooling fan with a noctua one, my top rgb led white strip on the 3080 has stopped working. For me it is totally black. Does anyone know how to get it back white again?

Oh, you meant the one on the side and not on the top. Sorry, my bad.
Did you take your 3080 out when you replaced the fan? If you did, maybe there's a micro switch that you touched without even noticing? A switch that sets LED bar on or off. My 3070 doesn't have one because there are no LEDs as far as I remember. Even if there was, I would most likely unplug it just like I did with my EVGA 3080 Ti.
From the video I can see two cables being sandwiched within the GPU. Looks like the one on the left powers the LED bar and the one on the right should drive the fans. Maybe there is just a bad contact? Hard to say.1

I have tried everything you can name of. Uninstalled all nvidia drivers and software and back again, installed all kinds of rgb graphic software which won’t help me. Uninstalled win 11 and installed it again, uninstalled win 11 again and back to win 10.. both not working either
The geforce rtx logo at the bottom does work though, it’s only the top which is dark for me

You really aren't giving people enough time to respond.
Remember we are a community support board, so you have to wait for another user with the answer to login and reply... Are you sure you didn't unplug it when doing the fan install? It looks like the RGB header is up near the main power connector from the PSU... Number 7 here.

I beg to differ and heavily disagree, I gave this community plenty of time to react since I’ve openend a similar topic weeks ago with no response whatsoever in the course of a couple of days resulting in me deleting the discussion. Furthermore, I have checked my MB yesterday and in particular slot 7 which is already occupied and connected. To which component I’m not sure.0 -
I have also checked - just in case - if my cpu fan was connected to the right cpu slot on the MB (number 4) in which it was.0

Additionally, I believe that number 7 is connected to the component which regulates my RGB fans at the front of my case. I must clarify as well that the AIO coolermaster watercooler is still on top of my cpu. I have not changed that part and the radiator is still in place. It is only the noctua 120mm fan which I have replaced with the unbelievably loud fan that comes with the predator orion 5000.Zouri said:Hi guys,

I think I know what's happening. I have the RTX 3070 from PO3-620 in front of me on the table right now. I have even opened it earlier when I replaced some thermal pads for better temps.
I don't think 3080 is that much different from 3070, but at least 3070 does not have LEDs on the backplate. The "Geforce RTX 3070" text on the back is illuminated by other LEDs inside the case. Now that you replaced the AIO fan (did it have LEDs?) with a Noctua, there is less light within the case and the text and the line around it looks dimmer. Could this be it?
Below some shots I took a moment ago. The cable in the 1st pic above RTX is for the fans.
Here is one pic from another user who replaced the original CPU cooler with a Noctua one as well as exhaust and intake fans which had LEDs on them. See how dim the text got now that the HSF is blocking even more light? I believe the only light source is the LED strip running parallel to the glass panel.
But like I said, 3080 might be different. To be sure that there are LEDs and they are not working, all you need to do is to remove the backplate and take a peek.1 -
Thank you so much for the elaborate response. Appreciate it. The AIO fan that I’ve replaced didn’t have rgb. It was the cooler master fa12025e12bpm. The bright light coming from the text “geforce rtx 3080” with the logo next to it was clearly seen in the past. Yes indeed, and no worries! And yes I did take out my GPU when I was replacing the fan. And perhaps there is, good suggestion checking out if there’s a micro switch! Maybe there is a bad contact, however I (just an hour ago or so) plugged the two cables out and back in with no luck. But I will try reseating the gpu tomorrow. To be continued.

Alright so I managed to get my gpu out of the case and after unscrewing the top to see if there’s any led bar, it was impossible for me to remove it due to the stickiness of the thermal strips underneath it.GotBanned said:Oh, you meant the one on the side and not on the top. Sorry, my bad.
