Hi, My Acer Aspire V3-571 laptop has just started automatically changing power source from the power cable to battery? I have it plugged in to the power cable, then I hear a beep and notice it's now using the battery only, even though it's still plugged in to the power cable. Then a few seconds later another beep and it's back using power from the power cable? Please can someone advise. Many thanks.

Open Device Manager. Click batteries folder. Right click and uninstall all drivers in the folder. Shut down Windows normally without reinstalling anything. Turn machine back on and let Windows automatically reinstall fresh copies of the drivers.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, then the charger's internal plug and wire connections probably have an intermittent connection issue from wear and tear of plugging the charger in and out of the computer jack and/or AC mains socket. New replacement chargers for this model are only about $15usd.

    Hi @PK5555,

At that time is the battery charged 100%.

When the battery hits 100% charged the problem begins. I've tried a new power charger and that made no difference, so I've just ordered a new battery, as my existing one is definitely losing charge faster than normal. I never use the battery, my Laptop is always plugged in to the charger. Will let you know how I get on, when the new battery arrives. Many thanks
