With the charger plugged in and Windows running, go to the elevated command prompt.  Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport'. Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer. Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser. Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity.

Certainly looks like the battery is not taking a charge. If under a year old it should be under warranty. If not I suspect you need to check the part number on eBay or Amazon.
ps what does being 70 have to do with anything ?  Ignorance is curable and Google can help.. Probably just need a set of magnetized jeweler's screwdrivers.

Sorry. You're posting the battery report the old F5,  not the new A5 computer.

    (1) Open Device Manager.
    (2) Click  batteries folder.
    (3) Right click and uninstall ALL drivers that you find in the batteries folder
    (4) Exit Device Manager and shut down Windows normally without trying to re-install anything
    (5) With the charger plugged in, wait for the battery charger LED to turn from steady orange to steady blue
    (6) After battery charge LED turns steady blue, turn the machine on and let Windows automatically redetect the battery and charger and reinstall fresh copies of the drivers.
    (7) If battery charge LED is still steady blue, unplug the charger

If the laptop still shuts off when you unplug the charger, immediately return the machine to the vendor as defective for a refund or exchange. Do this before the vendors return defective merchandise authorization (RMA) period expires. Usually only a few weeks. ACER warranty repair service would take longer.

One last thing to check. Open Windows start menu in the lower left tray. Search 'acer care'. Near the top, click on ACER Care Center. See if your Acer Care Center version has a battery limiter that you can turn off. This might solve the problem. Go to this link to see how it works.

Hi yes has Acer Care did everything you and others have said to do and now battery shows 0 percent when plugged in and yes it turns off when I unplug it so have packed it away until I can get some help to send it back to Acer. Thanks for your help and Merry Xmas stay safe
