I have a Predator G1-710 with a GTX 1080 GPU. I just wanted to know that can I upgrade my GPU or not and if yes, is there any limitation for choosing a graphic card or I can use any kind of graphic cards. I have these 2 models in my mind. 2060Ti or 3080 Ti.

At least in the case of 3080 Ti you will need to upgrade your current PSU to something like _a good quality_ 750W or even higher. That is, if the GPU isn't too long for your case from the beginning making the upgrade physically impossible. Furthermore, your CPU (what is it?) will most likely bottleneck 3080 Ti.

I think you'd get a nice performance boost with a 3070 or 3070 Ti. But even these cards may need new PSU, depending on the wattage and how many additional PCIe power cables they need.

At what resolution you play and what FPS does your monitor support?

Do you know the wattage of your PSU? How many additional PCIe power cables (6, 6+2 or 8-pin) does it have?

I bet that even this forum has few posts about upgrading G1-710. I'd make a search if I were you. I did, and to my astonishment I found out that your PC has not one but two(!) PSUs! Never seen this before. I'm sorry but I have no idea whether you can get more powerful PSUs for your system.

Anyway, I'd suggest you to visit https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/. Over there you can compare different cards and can see the specks and power requirements for most GPUs.

You are thinking about RTX 2060? Is it a vanilla, OC or Super? The bad news is that your GTX 1080 is faster in some games than vanilla 2060, so that would be a bad upgrade. I don't know how much DLSS helps, but not all games support it. 2060 Super _should_ be considerably faster than 1080 and 2070S even more so. So a used card might be a good option for a new one.

But to make a real difference and a noticeable upgrade, I think you should look for something like 3060 Ti or 3070. Unfortunately these are really expensive right now and then there is the problem with the power. HERE is a comparison between 3060 Ti and 3070 in case you are interested.

Unfortunately your i7-6700 is getting pretty old and will hold your GPU back. I just don't know how much. :( I used to have i7-6700K and it was overclocked to 4,7Ghz and that helped to feed my then 1080 Ti.

A place like https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/ is a good place to look for help. Just remember to post all of your components (CPU, RAM, PSU, monitor resolution and FPS) and I'm sure many forumites will come to help you.

the cpu is i7-6700 and my monitor supports 144Hz FPS and I play in 2K (2560*1440). if I get a 2060 GPU, I still have to change my PSU or not?!
