Hi, in my Predator 3000 the fourth RAM slot is block my a metal plate thing, presumed to be a disk burner. Is there anyway around this?

That is not correct as Acer wouldn’t put a "metal plate thing” or the ODD (optical disc drive) to block a DIMM slot. Take a caption of what you are talking about as it’s confusing what you are talking about.

If your memory is extra, extra tall you might run into the ODD chassis, but since the power connection is right there and it sticks up quite a bit taller than any memory should, I would want to see it for myself. As Steven suggests, take a picture for us to show the clearance.

This is from a video, I have the same RAM as shown. The fourth RAM slot as you can see is blocked by the thing under the HDD drive, making it unable to place full size RAM in the fourth slot.

This highlights it if you couldn’t see

That looks like the back bracket for the ODD and should be something like three inches above the MB. That ram looks awfully tall though...

It's just full sized RAM,I heard back from a guy who had the same problem and said I could remove it, apparently its where a DVD ROM goes.

That is NOT "full sized RAM" that is a RAM with a cooling module on it and that is why that RAM does not fit because the Vengeance RAM is not recommended for the PO3-600 by Acer! Always use the Acer OEM recommended RAM which is the DDR4 2666 or the DDR4-2400MHZ 288-pin DIMM’s e.g MICRON 16GB MTA16ATF2G64A Z-2G6E1 Acer part No: KN.16G04.011 or the MICRON 8GB MTA8ATF1G64AZ- Z-2G6E1 Acer part No: KN.8GB04.029 type RAM. Or and if you have a RAM that has a cooler module that works with the PO3-600 then take the ODD out as you can't have both.

Yeah, those heat shields make for an attractive product, but can be in the way...
