w700p dock question

I can't find an answer to this in the manual or online. When I researched getting the w700p info/reviews on it indicated the dock was additional battery capacity. My question is how do I know when it is fully charged and when it is very low and in need of charging again? I've only had the w700p a couple days and haven't used the dock.

The dock has no battery in it, only expansion of 3 USB3 ports. The difference between the W700 and w700P models is that you have Windows 8 Pro instead of Windows 8 standard.

As far as knowing the battery level of the Tablet that can be found on the desktop in the task bar. I use my tablet mostly docked and attach an external monitor to it via the micro usb port.

I see the battery life indicator on the task bar Smiley Happy and so far battery life appear to be very good. I do have to wonder why reviews say the dock is additional battery life if it has no battery. The dock looks identical to those in the reviews. I guess it is one less thing to worry about. Since the dock won't be used frequently. With no battery I won't have to be sure to use it and recharge to keep the battery in good condition. Unlike the tablet and keyboard which get daily use.

The W500 series tablets have a docking keyboard that includes 2nd battery so I think you may have been mixing that model up with the W700 series tablets. I use my W700 tablet mostly docked and occasionally take it out and use it as a tablet. I have been very happy with the battery performance so far and it's a very capabal desktop replacement as well. With the keyboard/case arrangement it really is much like a notebook so it's like getting 3 computers in 1.

Thats probably what happened. I can't find the video reviews now but I suspect that is why. Thanks.
