There is no driver on my aspire laptop.

Camera drivers are usually part of the chipset, not a separate driver any more. Go to this link, enter your full Acer model number (for example A515-54) and download the driver. Also there may be camera patches available for your model on the same page.

Some laptop's webcam requires OEM drivers. Other webcam just use the Microsoft generic UVC driver.0
