Why you can not switch mode on battery (Predator Sense) ?? Fine I understand that for extreme or turbo you need the AC..
BUT using the laptop on battery / in a quiet environment  or during night, should let you switch to Quiet Mode. Do I really need to hear the fans if I want quiet ?
I have Triton SE and this is one of the reasons I will return this laptop.

I don't know why the "quite" mode requires AC and I don't think so that acer will change this setting. But, you can alternatively make your laptop more quieter in default mode by decreasing fan's RPM. You can control the fan RPM in Predator Sense software.
I will advise you to try to elevate your laptop for more airflow which might compensate in cooling for decreased RPMs.

Let us know if it works for you.

(Note: I don't own your exact acer model nor I am any acer official)

And if you want you can set your system cooling policy to passive (what passive does is slows the processor before kicking the fan speed up)  while I recommend using active cooling to extend your CPU life span, if you need to know how to do this lemme know...

thank you all for the replies, my model is Predator PT314-51s (Triton 300 SE, 11375h + 3060).
I did not buy it for gaming, but for multimedia / office.

So if I have long reading sessions during night, all I wanted was to put the laptop in Quiet Mode on Battery. Which Acer does not allow.. because Mods can be changed only if the laptop is plugged in and has at least 40% battery.

badmyn im afraid you cant do anything about this its normal on all acer laptops gaming or not sorry also you shoudnt use it on battery at all it was not designed for that the battery main purpose its to provide the adapter with more power when this one cant provide enough to the cpu/dgpu its mainly a powerbank and only supposed to be used as emergency and rally light works or you will damage it and will have to get it replaced so use it on AC at all times if you want the laptop to last long thats my best advice its up to you good luck :)

sorry xapim, but I do not agree. this is a 14 inch laptop and by default it's a portable laptop. if it's portable should run pretty well on battery mode.
anyway I should consider if keep it or return to shop.
    thanks
