Acer Aspire AS5742G-6600 (Unsucessful system restore)

Seems my laptop crashed during a system restore. I had selected to back up my files as I know that was completed (c:/backup), but somewhere along the factory reset the laptop powered down and did not complete fully. Now its asking me for the OS disc to complete the process of which I do not have as Acer did not provide this disk with my Laptop.

I also looked under the support to find a .ISO file of the OS, but none was given just "No Result."

So where can I obtain the proper disc/.iso for this laptop to restore it? Thanks!

I think it would be helpful if you contact acer's tech support directly to ask for the disc or you can ask for their help via chat or phone.

I am out of warranty Smiley Sad

Alt- F10 allows for the restore to come up, however mine is not working Smiley Sad

Is there a way to get the C:/backup file from the drive without going into the OS?

You can remove the hard drive and put it into a USB caddy. It is very straightforward to do on most mahcines.

You can then easily access all your data and back it up to another external drive or PC/laptop
