I have a W700 tablet and it seems that non of my USB 3 memory sticks will not work.  It says that it's not recognized.  They all work in my Windows 7 laptop and other Windows 8 laptops.

    Same problem.

USB 3.0 suddenly doesn´t recognize my usb 3.0 flash drive.

ONLY solution that I was able to come up with is simply go to the BIOS - MAIN - DISBALE xHCI Support.

    Exit and save - reboot.

Now your usb port will be 2.0 and will be able to read the unreadble 3.0 flash drive.

I don't know if it's an Acer problem or a flash drive problem.   Any ideas?

I don't own a usb3 thumb drive but do use a usb3 external 2.5" drive and that works perfectly. I get speeds around 75MB/s transfer which is faster than any other computer I have used it on. I was considering getting a usb3 thumb drive so I'm very interested how many other people are having this issue.

    Hello,

My advice for the thumb drives: keep the receipt.

I bought a Lexar usb 3.0 thumb drive.  It worked fine but every time used it, it would kill my wifi connection.  Somehow the thumb drive wasn’t shielded correctly and thus was causing some interference with my wifi.  It would work if I covered it in aluminum foil or used a usb 3.0 extension cable.  Lexar was really cool and they had me send it back. I’m expecting them to send me a new one.

In the meantime I bought a Kingston usb 3.0 flash drive.  It worked for 10 days and suddenly stopped working in usb 3.0.  It only works in usb 2.0. Since I lost the receipt Kingston will not replace it.   Don’t buy from Kingston.

One thing I have noticed with my Asus dvd burner is that it has reading errors when plugged into the cradle. When plugged into the usb3 port of the tablet it works fine. I'm guessing it's a power issue with the usb3 ports of the cradle. In every other way I have found the cradle fine.

As it turns out the USB3 dvd issue was my own doing. I was using an extention usb cable to connect into the cradle. After removing it and connecting the very short supplied Asus dvd burner usb cable it is working fine with other devices using the other usb3 ports in the cradle.
