Thanks again for your help. I upgraded 4 Acers now with these SSDs https://www.amazon.ca/Blue-NAND-500GB-SSD-WDS500G2B0B/dp/B073SBV3XX/?th=1, but now I have a different model Model SF114-32-P30S. Will that HDD work in that model as well?

  • Here it says it may vary depending on the motherboard model:

But there is a bios version, related to nvme:

Thanks for your response. Do I understand you correctly, that the m2 storage I used in the other version will definitely work in this one as well, but that the BIOS upgrade may allow to use other SSD of type NVMe such as this one https://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-970-EVO-Plus-MZ-V7S1T0B/dp/B07MG119KG/

  • I'm not sure. But this bios update, provides some fix for nvme.

The compatibility with NVMe is a hardware difference in the motherboards, not a BIOS adjustment. Your machine is either compatible or not, and the only sure way to tell is to install one and see if it works in a stable fashion. It's usually better to just assume it will not and put the specified device type in.
