i know this device does not officially support 64gb of ram but why would it not work considering 32gb dimms exist? has anyone tried it?

This thread is a little old, but I just came across it.

I have a Predator Helios 300 (PH315-53-764Q) with 64GB of Kingston FURY Impact. It's running just fine with it and all of it is addressable.

You can have a look at one of its CPU-Z validations here. CPU-Z is being weird, and not accepting its validation for whatever reason, but it's working without issue though.

lentrail no one said that would not support the issue is taking a chance to spend money on 2x32gb and then they arent supported all depends on which cpu youre talking about and also mobo support :p

Also whats the exact model youre talking about ??
