IMPORTANT!

I have this issue with my Acer Laptop... It suddenly goes blank. I tried checking what could be the cause but found nothing. Part of what i've done is check the display which is working fine, I've tried pressing the power button to drain the power option, and RAM change which it doesn't work.

One important, yet confusing thing I noticed is that the computer works "at its will". I can remove the two RAM and put one back and it starts and also displays and works properly, but then fails to display when I shutdown or restart. I've tried this with both RAM and RAM slots and its same. Even when I fix the two RAMs, it will boot normally, but then fails to display at next booting and will require lots of exchange of RAM before it suddenly displays again even with RAMs that seems not to work before.

The cycle continues like that.... PLEASE, WHAT COULD BE WRONG?

It might help if you could reveal the full model number of your ACER laptop. For example, A515-54g. Or E5-531.There are hundreds of laptop models so it's hard to guess which one you have.

It affects the entire booting process. If the system displays, in bios screen, it can remain for as long as possible, also in safe mode. But when I boot the system normally, it will turn blank after during or after the welcome screen. In all these, it is very dificult to boot as most of the time, it wont boot up as the system will power but no display.

Out of about 10 boot attempts, it "might" display and boot just once.

Do you see the same behavior when HDMI or VGA out to an external TV or monitor? Press FN+F5 to turn TV screen on.

    Yes... Same behaviour
  • OK! Try resetting the battery: turn off the computer, unplug the power adapter, press the power button for sixty seconds.

    (1) Unplug the charger.
    (2) Remove the battery pack.
    (3) Press & hold the power button again for about a minute. No battery pack installed and NOT plugged in.
    (4) Insert battery pack.
    (5) Plug charger back in. Wait for battery charge LED to turn to steady blue
    (6) After charge LED turns steady, blue turn the laptop on and immediately press F2 to enter BIOS menu
    (7) Press F9 to set defaults. F10 to save defaults and exit the BIOS menu
    (8) Windows should start normally
