Charging light shows on, when I turn it on all that happens is that the power light flickers on for a second then goes back off. Nothing on screen, have reset battery & still no good

Is charging light steady orange or steady blue? What is full model number? For example EX215-51g.

The charging light is steady blue, EX215-51-35TN

Have taken out the internal battery. The laptop does have a broken USB port (the board is broken) could this affect the PC booting?

This bit is connected with a cable & even with out it the laptop still won't boot.

Possibly. Do you have any idea of how it got broken?

    Hi @boo1200,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Unplug the charger.
    3. At the bottom there will be a tiny pin hole with battery sign close to it take a pin or paper clip and insert into it hold that button for 20-30 seconds. Then turn ON the unit and check.

A usb got jammed in it, possibly dropped but it ripped the board with the usb on it out of the screw.

And then it wouldn't switch on anymore?

The USB board only should affect that USB port and the speaker, there really isn't much else going on there. Since the board is damaged the cable between it and the motherboard should be disconnected though.

Yeah but it's the parts about being 'possibly dropped' and "ripped the board with the usb on it out of the screw" that suggests that more than just than the USB port coulda been adversely affected. :o
