    (1) Use Rufus to convert the Zorin iso file to a GPT partition scheme FAT32 USB Zorin installation pendrive.
    (2) If dual booting, enable the F12 and D2D boot options in the BIOS Main tab.
    (3) Set a BIOS supervisor password in the BIOS Security tab.
    (4) Press F10 to save BIOS settings and exit.
    (5) Re-enter the BIOS menu with the supervisor password.
    (6) Disable secure boot in the BIOS Security tab.
    (7) Press F10 to save with secure boot disabled.
    (8) Shut down machine and insert Zorin installation pendrive made with Rufus
    (9) Turn machine on and immediately press F12 key for menu to boot from Zorin installation pendrive

Zorin is principally used in older BIOS-base MBR boot disks. Thus it may have problems with installing on UEFI-base GPT boot disks.

Please follow these steps even if not dual booting

    (1) Use the Zorin DD terminal command on another machine to convert the Zorin iso file to a bootable GPT partition scheme FAT32 USB Zorin installation pendrive. (If you don't know how to do this, just ask)

The 1st partition, usually people set it to 100MB, is for the UEFI, it must be in FAT32 format.
The bootloader is to be written to this FAT32 UEFI partition.

Yes, your HDD may be failing. Go to this link and follow directions to find out if your HDD has bad sectors or blocks. You should be able to use a live USB Zorin session from the Zorin installation USB to run the necessary sudo terminal command to analyze problems that may be in one or more of the HDD partitions.

Maybe. Can you boot to a live Zorin desktop from the USB Zorin installation flash drive?
