I just realized that my loading time in games and boot time has been so long compared to my brothers computer because it didn't come with an ssd.
Is it easy to install an ssd? is it accessible via the big panel in the back so that I do not have to open up the entire thing (being inexperienced at this)?
What ssds will work/fit? Is there a max size (centimeters etc, and is there a max capacity of terrabytes/speed), which ssds would you guys recommend?  And how many slots are there for ssds?

These are the suggested 2.5” spinner HDD’s and M.2 SSD drives for your laptop. Note: capacities of these drives are limited by the Windows formatting rules of either the Master Boot Record (MBR) format or the GUID Portion Table (GPT) format rules, here are the 2.5” 1TB and 2TB SATA-3 6GB/sec spinner HDD’s recommended for your laptop and the PCIe x3 8GB/sec M.2 SSD drive recommended for your laptop.

Note: the 2.5” spinner HDD’s listed below can also be replaced as its more advantageous to use the 2.5” SSD SATA-3 at 6GB/sec drives, as spinner HDD’s are too slow and will not be as quick as a 2.5” SSD drive.

    Suggested 1TB SATA-3 6GB/sec Spinner HDD’s are:

    1TB SATA-3 6GB/sec Spinner HDD’s:

    • HGST HTS721010A9E630
    • WD WD10JPVX-22JC3T 0
    • HGST HTS721010A9E630
    • HGST HTS721010A9E630
    2TB SATA-3 6GB/sec Spinner HDD’s:
    • SEAGATE ST2000LM007
    • SEAGATE ST2000LM003

    Suggested 512GB of M.2 PCIe x3 8GB/s:

    •  SAMSUNG MZVPV512HDGL

Is there a reason for 512gb instead of 500 or 1tb on the ssd, my computer already came with HGST HTS721010A9E630, it has a 2nd additional slot for an ssd right? What does the 12gb do? I am mainly interested that the ssd is compatible with my laptop. The SAMSUNG MZVPV512HDGL is weird because amazon /new egg are out of it and ebay sells only used ones, is that like some super old model? Are all m.2 2280s compatible?

On a website I just googled, https://www.mrmemory.co.uk/ssd-upgrades/acer/predator-laptop/g5-793-79sg , it recommends only  2.5" ssds
And on this website: https://laptopmedia.com/review/acer-predator-17-g5-793-review-hefty-but-solid-as-always/ it says that I have a free slot for a m.2 2280.

If all I need to do is add a m.2 2280, is there any specifications I need to know of,  is it just m.2 , or additionally PCie x3.

I am considering the recommendation you made of

    SAMSUNG MZVPV512HDGL-000H1

or just a generic example of

    Crucial P2 500GB PCIe M.2 2280 SSD

    Samsung is 3.3 2V 2.7A
    Crucial is 3.3V 1.7A
Do these values matter for a newb?
It says the crucial one is faster and I also do not have to buy something used from amazon, is there some specific reason that the Samsung one is more compatible?

I would rather get a non used ssd with better speed than 12 additional gigabytes.  You also mentioned 8GB/s and the info seems to say that their transfer rates are of up to like 2400 megabytes per sec. Please enlighten me a little further so that I might know what I am shopping before I purchase!!!!!! Thank you so much for everything you have already done, it has opened up a path of much research for me, and it was truly fun.

Also may I insert into that ssd slot any amount from 128gig to 2 tb or is there some limiting factor there as well. 512 sounds like a great amount, but if i find a good deal on some of the other ones I'd like to know if I am able to capitalize on it.
