Aspire A515-55 Out of warranty laptop. Password problem plus reset problems

Aspire A515-55 Out of warranty laptop. Bit of an extended story - sorry for the length. Problem: Using fingerprint sensor for login, gave error, needs password, password forgotten, won't accept answers to security questions. Tried a variety of solutions from internet to reset password (e.g. password recovery program(s)] with no luck. Now trying the method on a Youtube from Acer re: resetting the operating system - works as per the youtube but after starting, program gets to about 50-60% of intial reset then says "reversing changes, problems with reset, not changes made". Can anyone help me with a solution to this problem - really just need to reset password to get into the computer. Thanks!! Randy

Sorry. Forum rules suggest that you contact ACER support services for bypassing security features. Other than that, you can probably save personal files by removing the boot drive and attaching it to another machine's USB port. Then cleaning the drive and re-installing Windows.
