Hi there,
Some pretext:
- Nitro 7 AN715
- I have a SSD C: Drive as well as the D : drive
- I bought the laptop around a year ago, it was delivered to my house through mail
- Idk what else I should mention here, please ask for more info if needed
This all started a few months ago when I opened my laptop and my D : drive was missing, I restarted it a couple of times and the D : drive appeared again, a bit weird but I forgot about it. Though, around a month ago it started again but much more frequently, and has only been getting worse. I'll restart my laptop and sometimes it wont reappear, and even if it does it usually doesn't stay open that long. I'm pretty sure that the harder the D : drive works the faster it is to disconnect. I looked through Disk Management and the hard drive is completely gone when it is disconnected. I then used Acer Care Support when the drive was there and it said it was "healthy". So today I went to open my laptop up and it has been stuck at booting windows and going to repairing windows but nothing will come of this. I got it to open once but then restarted it after uninstalling some anti-virus software in case that was the cause of it. I have been trying to get it to boot for around an hour and it will not open. I also did a virus scan before and it said it had no viruses, so I'm fairly sure this isn't an issue. I have pinned it down to a few issues but would like some advice on which most likely it is, as I don't want to spend tons of money trying to fix this.
So
- Could the SATA connections be loose, is this a problem worth looking into?
- Could the PSU be malfunctioning, possibly undervolting or overvolting the hard drive, is this something I should look into?
- Is the hard drive just dying? (though I would find this odd considering how new it is)
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies
