Hi,

I have ACER Aspire 5 A515-52G-546F laptop.
I want to upgrade my 128GB SSD in this model, so I ordered Kingston A2000 1TB SSD. Is there a limitation of the size of ssd for this laptop? I should have asked before, but I didn't think that there might be a limitation of max size. Can somebody confirm that he was able to install 1TB SSD on this motherboard?

You should be able to use any HDD or SSD up to 2TB capacity without issues.

    Hi,
Yes, you can use a 1TB drive but 512GB is the recommended size because Acer may have tested with a 512GB drive.

That's great. I thought to cancel my order, because I read somewhere that this motherboard supports only 512 GB ssd... I hope it will work fine and I expect better speeds with the new SSD drive because it's NVME.

    Thank you.

    Nidzesi,

You can upgrade the memory with a maximum of 16GB DDR4 2400/2133MHz module, you already have 4GB onboard memory and a slot for upgrade, as for the SSD, you can install a M. 2 NVMe SSD up to recommended maximum size of 256GB but few users have installed 512GB and 1TB as well in this model.

I have 8GB of RAM preinstalled. I found the same RAM module and upgraded to 16GBs. It works much better now.

Thank you all for your replies.
