What memory frequency does nitro 5 AN515-54 accept?

Greetings
I have a Nitro 5 AN515-54 with intel i5-9300H which comes with a factory memory 8GB ddr4 3200mhz
I contacted acer support, and they tell me that I should put a memory frequency 2400 or 2666, I do not understand why lower the frequency, if my computer originally comes with 3200mhz.

Should I buy another 3200mhz memory?

I appreciate if you can help me to understand this doubt.

    Hi,
Your CPU supports frequency up to 2666MHz, if you want to upgrade with another module buy DDR4 3200 and install because to utilise dual chanel feature you have to install same speed memory modules but your system will run at 2666MHz.
I would also suggest you avoid any modules with XPM profiles, like Kingston HyperX or Corsair modules.

I checked he specifications of your computer.    You can install upto 32 gb of memory..

System Memory DDR4 2400/2666 SODIMM memory interface design: • DDR4 SODIMM slot x 2 • Maximum memory is up to 32GB

When you buy the memory sticks try to get the same frequency for both the sticks..

I would like to provide some additional info which will really help you.

I understand that you would like to upgrade the memory for your computer and you need to get more details about the frequency of memory that you need to buy.

Kindly go through the details given below.  The info provided below will be very helpful to get the current memory and ssd details of your computer and the options to upgrade it.

Please visit the website given below.  There is an option to  "start your scan "  and " select your computer " .  Please chose the options and try it.  It will show you the memory and SSD’s details and the best upgrade options for you..

It will tell you what you currently have and what you can add for memory and SSD's.

Note: If you decide to buy you can always compare the prices by visiting other websites or stores and then you can decide.  We are providing the info of scan app just to show you the upgrade options.  You can even download similar scan apps from other memory upgrade websites too.

    Greetings, brummyfan2

I actually bought a DDR4 puskill 3200mhz memory, I installed it and when I put it in, the computer screen tends to flicker very fast, like when you minimize and maximize the windows.
I did the test of leaving the new memory module, only installed, and it does not give me any error. When I install both, it does give me an error.

I have done the tests with the windows memory diagnostics and memtes86 to each memory, individually and as a whole, and it does not give me any errors.

I have also made updates of windows, reset of the equipment, updates of the graphics, both old and recent version, and the problem continues.

    - If I put the original computer memory in any slot, it does not flash.
    - If I put the new purchased memory in any slot, it does not blink.
    - If I put them together, it blinks --- windows detects the 16GB of ram, both in BIOS and in the OS.

    Hello my friend.
In fact the factory equipment comes with a ddr4 at 3200mhz, that's why I bought another of the same frequency.

On the acer website I have been told that it must be a memory of 2400 or 2666, then I do not understand why the computer came with a 3200, if I have to lower the frequency.

Hi, You have Ryzen 7 3750h CPU in your laptop, it will restrict the frequency to 2400MHz, so if you install 3200MHz modules they will run at 2400MHz but Crucial advertise 3200MHz modules as compatible and they will work.

Your mojo supports 2400 and 2666 MHz but many people have found that the 2666 runs at 2400, so 2400 is a better bet and the speed difference is negligible

    Hello my friend
In fact in the chat support of acer, in my country, they tell me that indeed 2400 or 2666 is accepted, but for my case, I would need a 3200mhz memory... because according to what they tell me, they will work at 2666.

The thing is that I already have a new 3200mhz memory, but it generates an error if I put them together.
The computer originally comes with a 3200mhz memory.

I already know if it was the new memory, since I tested this one alone for several days, and it works fine. But I put them together and it generates error

    Hi,
I couldn't find any specification details for puskill module, there's some incompatibility between the original memory module and the new module, please post the part numbers on both modules, in the meantime insert the new RAM, go to BIOS screen and move to the Main tab, press F9 button to set default value, then press F10 button to save & exit and see whether it helps.

I share photos of the memories
The one that comes with the equipment originally with the equipment is the Micron brand.
The one I bought is the Puskill brand
