I bought this laptop last winter and it never occured to me until now why the system info, dxdiag and everywhere else I look, it shows only 4GB RAM installed. I didn't know how the HD4000 chip use dynamic memory so I though the 2GB ddr3 was allocated to it constantly. Today I decided to swap the faulty memory module with another 2GB stick and now the bootmessages, dxdiag and all shows the 6GB it's supposed to be.
Just a heads up incase you've installed more of these faulty DDR3s.
A power user like me barely noticed it, a normal user would never notice.

I went to the store where I bought it, but they told me the warranty is no more valid because I've installed another operating system and because I opened the service bay where the memories are located. That's like taking out the battery.. Is this true or are they bull**bleep**ting me?

I could've never confirmed the problem if I hadn't swapped the faulty memory

...I should probably mention that I've reformatted the HDD which had Win8 as stock OS. Now I'm dualbooting Win7 & Mac, both 100% genuine ofcourse
