Welcome,

I install a driver of WAVES MaxxAudio but I couldn't turn it on. It is always grey and there is information that "Actual default device is not " supported. This isn't truth because two years ago when I took this laptop from the box it worked with my earphones. I read a topic https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/555668/acer-predator-helios-500-wave-maxxaudio-installation-after-format-and-fresh-windows-re-install/p1, but in my opinion it isn't solve my problem. I wouldn't like to make again (third time) a fresh install of the Windows only because some audio drivers doesn't work. In previous laptop, Lenovo y580, I only have to reinstall audio/realtek drivers and everything was fine. And in any device this should be work this way, reainstalling the drivers, but not cleaning up the whole system. So, the question is what have I to do here, to make possible this WAVES MaxxAudio drivers again?

Let us try the basic steps first..

    Try windows x
Go to device manager - Go to sound video and game controllers.  Expand it
Uninstall the sound driver from device manager.  Please uninstall all the items below the sound video and game controllers.
Restart the computer.  It should work fine..

If it is still not working
Uninstall the sound driver from device manager
    Dont restart the computer.

I am so ashamed. That was a solution and was so simple.
A few months ago I did this operation a lot of times because I had a problem with a cracking sound. But then, the problem was with a motherboard not with software, so only a warranty help to solve this cause. I couldn't think that this time uninstalling all sound drivers will be enough.

    Thank you very much.

However, with Waves MAXAUDIO cracking sound return. So the problem is with this software because on default Windows sound drivers (Realtek), there wasn't a problem with that. External speakers are louder now, but if somebody, like me, usually uses earphones then you get better sound but cracking spoils it.
