Low performance on all games (Nitro 5 AN515-51)

I have had this laptop for 1 year now, Acer nitro 5 with i5 7th gen - 8gb ram(I upgraded to 12gb) - 256 hard drive (I upgraded to 1tb SSD) - gtx 1050ti. It's hardly performing to the standard advertised. I play games that were released in like 2004 and I can hardly maintain 60fps while playing the multiplayer version without the laptop being plugged in. Now recently I bought a new game on steam which was released in 2018, with the specs I have, I should be able to run it on high specs if I want but I can hardly maintain 30 fps in the game. Just before making this post, my fps was 12 and it continued to drop while plugged in and on the lowest gaming settings.

All my drivers are up to date and I'm running the latest windows version.

Check the temperature while you are gaming. If the CPU or GPU is around 90-96C, you might need to clean the laptop and replace the thermal paste. Also, it is better to have the laptop plugged in while gaming.

Make sure to select the high performance profile from nitrosense or power plan settings to make your cpu work flawlessly

    Fretdem1,

    1. Regularly clean your laptop.
    2. Update your drivers (especially for the GPU).
    3. Install the latest version of DirectX.
    4. Overclock the GPU.
    5. Optimize the power settings.
    6. Activate Windows 10's Game Mode.
    7. Close background apps.
