This issue is occurring on my Acer Aspire Z24-890.  A few days ago, bluetooth disappeared when I was in the middle of a document.  The computer says no bluetooth is installed.  I had to switch to a wired mouse and keyboard. Then 2 days later, bluetooth was back and working.  So I switched back to my bluetooth mouse/keyboard. Then another 2 days later, it disappeared again while I was browsing the web.  I've downloaded and applied the bluetooth drivers, with no impact. I just did a system restore, and it didn't make a difference.  I saw a thread about this same issue on laptops from last year.   Does anyone have any further ideas for this problem?

"JWB" the WiFi/BT card that is in your Aspire Z24-890 is either an Intel or an Atheros type card. in most cases and if either the WiFi or BT disengages you should reboot the computer and after the login into Windows you should press either the F3 key or the F3 + Fn keys together which should reengage both the WiFi and BT functions if it hasn't reengaged after reboot? If this does not happen then uninstall the WiFi/BT drivers completely (WiFi thorough Device Manager and BT either through Device Manager or some of the older ones are in Control Panel>Uninstall a program) and reinstall the latest drivers for either the Intel 9560 (if you have the Intel WiFi/BT card? Then its best that you install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant that will update all the Intel drivers for your Aspire Z24-890) the other card that is fitted is the Qualcomm Atheros M.2 card model #: QCA9377A which the last WiFi version driver is the 12.0.0.1016 and the last BT driver should be the version 10.0.0.714 which you  should reinstall fresh after a compete uninstall of the old drivers!

If all the above does not work then you will have to inspect the actual WiFi/BT M.2 card internally and see if the antenna wires haven't disengaged from the top of card (they should be a Black and White color wires) and/or they are not damaged, which and btw, is very unlikely as these cards are very reliable and very rarely go wrong.  The OEM WiFi/BT card(s) fitted by Acer to your Aspire Z24-890 should either of the following types:

Thanks for this information. I will save it for the future. In the meantime, unplugging the computer from the wall for 10 minutes mysteriously resolved the problem.
