Why doesn't Aspire 8930G have a CMOS button battery?

Because after the large battery is not stored, every time the power-on date is the initial date of the notebook, it is troublesome.
After refilling Win7, every time you enter the Windows system without advanced CMOS input date, the wireless network will not work (the orange light on the right side of the keyboard will not be on).
Be sure to turn it off and turn it on again the next day (it will not work if you turn it on again after two or three hours), enter the current date in advanced CMOS, enter the Windows system, and the wireless network will be connected (the orange light on the right side of the keyboard will be on).

Depending on the laptop. My laptop has the CMOS battery hidden under the M.2 NVMe SSD. You may want to try looking for it there or underneath other parts. Take a closer look.

On some extremely stupid cases, the battery is at the bottom side of the motherboard.

Yes. At the corner of bottom side of the motherboard, close voice and microphone and earphone plug set.
Acer should make a cover like others cover at that place, make it simply replacing CMOS battrey.
